Movin on Up
Hey everyone! I have some exciting news: my hubby Dan and I are moving. As I write this, we are waist deep in boxes, waiting for the moving company to arrive and carry our lives to our next apartment. I hope they don’t break anything – well, maybe a few things of Dan’s…just kidding, honey!

Since this is one of those universal experiences everyone goes through – and, if you live in a big city like I do, possibly even annual – I thought this would make a great, fun instructional series on how to move with sanity and style.

We are so excited to add a few hundred square feet to the 700 we’ve been sharing for the last couple of years (talk about a true relationship test!) – but it hasn’t been all that fun figuring out what stays, what goes, how much we have to spend on new décor (I could spend every last dollar we have on this!), what we want the space to look like and feel like, who we trust to help us, etc.

We also spent a lot of time talking about what we wanted from our new home, what we couldn’t stand about the one we were leaving, what each of us needed and what we maybe had to compromise on in order to find a place that works for us as a family (one we want to grow eventually), and  so on.

Let me tell you, I’ve learned a lot from living in this apartment and searching for/moving into our next one. Some of what you’ll read will be a do-as-I-say-and-not-as-I-did (i.e. our old place was big on style but lacking in comfort). I’ll also be sharing a bunch of invaluable resources that either didn’t exist or I didn’t know about the last time we went through this process.

In addition to the blogs, make sure you keep an eye on my social media feeds too! On Twitter (@JNSantaniello) we’re going to have a special LIVE Twitter chat with a home design expert who will happily field your questions. On Instagram (@JustineSantaniello), I’ll be posting updates on the move as well, including the old/new spaces, my favorite things about the neighborhood and maybe a few candids of my handsome guy (if he lets me).

So, stay tuned and wish us luck!
